Refurbished computers offer the perfect solution for someone looking to get the most bang for the buck in purchasing a desktop, laptop, or netbook to the consumer or business, a refurb system creates questions and concerns like How beat up is this thing? Where did it come from? Do I get a warranty? How does technical support work? f it breaks, can I get it fixed?

The answer to these questions about refurbished or reconditioned computers and consumer electronics are addressed here to help you right size your technology requirements.

What is refurbished?

A refurbished product has been professionally restored to its original working order. In most cases, this means the product has been inspected, cleaned and repaired to meet manufacturer specifications. The product may or may not be in its original packaging.

The manufacturer's warranty or warranty of the company performing the remanufacturing services may apply to the product and should be defined on the product's information page. If you have a question on a specific product warranty please feel free to call us or send drop us an email. We will be happy to assist you with this information.

As they are received, systems are inspected and separated into these categories

  • Refurbished product (B-stock systems)
  • Refurbished scratch and dent product (C-stock systems)
  • Finally, products that are deemed not repairable and are torn down for parts and/or responsibly recycled

This will give you a clear understanding of how refurbished computers and refurbished scratch and dent computers are classified.
Refurbished computers

All refurbished computers and consumer electronics offered by Cheetah Deals have undergone a 23 point test process to verify that they function as designed.

Systems that do not pass the test process undergo trouble shooting by trained technical staff, repaired and retested.

After they are tested, systems are reloaded with the factory specified operating system and drivers for that exact system.

Once they are reimaged, systems undergo a final inspection and cleaning.  They are then packaged with their accompanying accessories and ready to ship.

Where do refurbished products originally come from?

Refurbished products originate from a variety of sources:

  • Customer returns and canceled orders
    • functional, but because they have been opened, can no longer be sold as new
  • Damaged products
    • returned due to cosmetic flaw or shipping damage
  • Items returned to make room for new systems
    • Demonstration or floor units systems used to help sell inventory

Systems to be refurbished arrive daily at the return center from retailers, e-tailers and manufacturers around the United States.  Once they arrive and are received, they undergo the process described above.

Do I get a warranty?

Yes, all refurbished computers offered by Cheetah Deals come backed by a 90 day warranty.

Additionally, as a Cheetah Deals customer, you are covered by our Deal Spot Promise.

How does Technical Support work?

U.S.-based Technical Support is available.

If it breaks, can I get it fixed?

If a system breaks during the warranty period, we have the ability to repair the system or replace it with a like system.

What should I look for when I buy refurbished computers?

There are a number of things to keep in mind when you are looking at buying a reconditioned system:

  • Be sure that you are buying a truly refurbished system and not a used system being passed off as refurbished
  • Make sure that you are getting a warranty on the system and understand what that warranty covers
  • About return policies and fees associated with a return.  We cover you with a Spot On Promise
  • Don't wait, refurbished inventory turns over quickly and back ordering is almost never an option
